Vegetarian recipes


pepper.jpgHaving an allotment there is no shortage of vegetables.

Sometimes you have to wonder how you are going to use them all,as nothing is wasted.Something always comes to mind though. These recipes are great even if you do eat meat and fish.You don’t have to be a vegetarian to enjoy them.

As the years go by I become more and more into vegetables and less into meat. I used to think that a meal was not complete without meat and that vegetables were an addition or to add colour. It has nothing to do personally with the animals more to do with realising how filling and versatile vegetable recipes can be.

Seafood and other fish dishes


seafood.jpgI was watching a programme about seafood which reminded me of when we were in The Canary Islands one Christmas and instead of the usual Christmas dinner we had Lobster in Champagne sauce.It was at a wonderful Italian restaurant in Fuerteventura.We have been to Fuerteventura for the last few years at Christmas and usually have our Christmas meal at this restaurant.So it started me thinking about my favourite seafood recipes.

Delicious low fat recipes


veg.jpgWhen I was trying to lose weight ,the most important factor was the lack of fat in my diet.I am sure that lowering the fat in my diet really helped me achieve my goal.At first I thought that it would be boring but it turned out to be completely the opposite. I was amazed how good it was.I am not one for having ready meals but if I did have one I made sure it was about 5% fat content or lower.Even a year after reaching my goal I still eat mostly fat free meals.I now find ingredients like butter to rich, I was a person who could eat butter by the spoonful!!  ….I gave up butter on my sandwiches and I don’t even miss it.After a year I still don’t eat it….Take a look at my favourite fat free recipes and enjoy your dieting instead of suffering and feeling that it is a chore!! Rice and all things nice.


rice My daughter having a wheat allergy is always grateful for rice recipes now she can’t eat pasta or most noodles.Of course we all know that rice is so versatile and healthy ,I think it is very underrated and should be used more often in every day life.One of my favourite recipes is a mushroom risotto.Of course they come out different every time and I love mine ending up with a nice portion of the creamy stock left in the risotto and not too dry.
